Live Online Tatsings

At the age of 17, I had the dream of one day owning the bar with the best selection of spirits in the world.

Over the years, I have accumulated an enormous collection of rare spirits.

Because: alcohol is my life.

My passion.

What interests and fascinates me.

I like anything that contains alcohol: wine, beer, etc. But nothing compares to spirits for me - especially not barrel-aged spirits.

I want to share this passion with you.

And in doing so, penetrate into the most diverse worlds:

Rarities and special treasures on the one hand, but also our own daring bottlings from the past.

The fact is that although spirits fascinate me more than anything else in the world, at the same time I'm bored.

I don't mean this in a pretentious way, but I just can't do much with normal rum/whisky etc. anymore.

I want the drama and the uniqueness.

Feel the personality of the producer.

I just tasted my way through the Provine trade fair with Sascha, only to lose my temper again when I saw Lheraud Cognac and shouted:

Fuck Yeah!!

That's why I created a cognac tasting with Lheraud - but more on that in a moment.

On Monday I did a tasting with Dirk from the Rum Depot.

We tasted some brutal stuff and reminisced about our time together.

He and I each provided three bottles, bottled them as a tasting set, which sold out within minutes and we tasted them live.

That was fun!

Here is the tasting video:

That’s exactly what I’m talking about:

Drinking stuff that excites me and sharing it with people. Usually with some emotional and personal component.

But the number with Dirk was just the beginning.

I'm doing that again now. Always live on YouTube.

Again with cool guests who I really appreciate from the spirits industry, such as Sascha Junkert, Robert Bauer , Florian Burkhardt, Johannes, Wolfgang Klotz etc.

Then I do very personal tastings, where I raid my private stocks or, for example, organize a rarity tasting with my old SCC stocks - but also with the previous Wagemut Special Editions.

Because this is once again a purely romantic project to satisfy my passion, I've released almost all sets at cost—or even at an emotional price like €49 for the SCC Rarities Set , even though there are only 24 of them and the fabric hasn't been available for years...

Whatever. It's just fun, and I'm happy to share these moments and special drinks with you.

Some sets are a bit pricey - like the Rum Giant Tasting for €199.

I realize that's a lot of money—but the value of the bottles is a comfortable €8,500, resulting in a cost of goods sold of €194.47 per box! Then I pay shipping, and my margin is gone.

It's simply the coolest stuff in the world and truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try something like this.

My personal highlight, however, is the tasting “Nicola’s Spirits Development Journey.”

Uh, that's great!

In that case, I'll take you on my journey of spirits development.

How I discovered alcohol through making fruit brandies, through my time in France and Scotland, to the final boss, rum, and the best cognac in the world.

I'll tell you what each rehearsal triggered in me and what step it led me to take.

Whereas for most sets I only had one bottle available, which limited the number of tastings to 25-35, here I was able to obtain more bottles of each variety and thus create more sets.

This makes me very happy.

I don't want to overwhelm you with all the tastings - so if you "only" want to do one, then this:

Looking forward to some lovely evenings with you!

Your Nicolas
